I’m pleased to write a strong reference for the high-quality work and results I’ve experienced since engaging Clemens Sippel to accomplish repair, restoration and new work at my 110 year old house in a Landmark District in Brooklyn. Mister Sippel has accomplished complex wood-working repairs of floors, windows, doors, trim, moldings and non-wood materials throughout the house. He makes full use of materials already present in the house, only replacing as necessary and then always with closely matched or near identical replacements. His work on carved oak moldings made from quarter-sawn white oak has resulted in the restoration of original details to my home that had been missing for more than 50-years. His creation of an affordable library wall and audio system cabinetry in oak matched to the 110- year-old trim in the room created a comfortable, attractive space respectful of the past and yet serviceable for a family. His practical knowledge of electrical and plumbing issues compliments his general carpentry and cabinet-making skills. His design sense adds immeasurably to his high level of craft.
